Introduction Roberto Haliffi was born in
Tripoli (North Africa) from a Sephardim family.
At an early age he started playing darbuka, an
arabic drum and trap set in folk bands. His uncle
Bicio introduced him in jazz bands. Together they
played for the American military base and in
night clubs. He also had his pop band with his
musician friends.

"I love to use various
drums sounds and musical concept to create
different styles of music with my bands. During
my carrier of 40 years of performing i`ve
experienced various kinds of music playing with:

- Premiata Forneria Marconi (Pop)
- Burton Greene (progressive Jazz-klezmer)
- Tonino Ramos (brazilian)
- Lesly Lopez (salsa)
- John Marshall (blues-jazz)
- Hans Dulfer (jazz-funk)
- Ramon Valle (Cuban-jazz)
- Mola Silla, Ingram Washington, Angela
Groothuis, Rosa King, singers of pop, afro,jazz
music
I played with Jazz masters like: Tony Scott,
Perry Robinson, Charly Mariano, Wilbur Little,
Hein van der Gaag and many others!
Of course I am on several records with the artist
just named! "
