Introduction

Roberto Haliffi was born in Tripoli (North Africa) from a Sephardim family. At an early age he started playing darbuka, an arabic drum and trap set in folk bands. His uncle Bicio introduced him in jazz bands. Together they played for the American military base and in night clubs. He also had his pop band with his musician friends.

"I love to use various drums sounds and musical concept to create different styles of music with my bands. During my carrier of 40 years of performing i`ve experienced various kinds of music playing with:

- Sonnie Taylor (caribian jazz)
- Premiata Forneria Marconi (Pop)
- Burton Greene (progressive Jazz-klezmer)
- Tonino Ramos (brazilian)
- Lesly Lopez (salsa)
- John Marshall (blues-jazz)
- Hans Dulfer (jazz-funk)
- Ramon Valle (Cuban-jazz)
- Mola Silla, Ingram Washington, Angela Groothuis, Rosa King, singers of pop, afro, jazz music

I played with Jazz masters like: Tony Scott, Perry Robinson, Charly Mariano, Wilbur Little, Hein van der Gaag and many others!
Of course I am on several records with the artist just named! "
